Activity Hazards Mitigation

Astrophysics: Fly through the universe in 3-D, faster than light, through the Milky Way! Make your own comet and learn how astronomers see far, far away – EXPLORE THE UNKNOWN!

Fingers get cold in dry ice

Waves: Learn about amplitude, wavelength and frequency. Learn about traveling and standing waves, diffraction and refraction. Feel water waves, listen to sound waves, see light waves - SURF’S UP!

 

Lasers (very low power)

Electronics 2: Build an electronic decision maker! Stuff and solder a pc board, mount IC’s (integrated circuits) and assemble the unit. After assembly, ask an important question. What does it say– WISE GUY!

 

You could burn yourself or solder can “pop” into and damage your eye

 

 

Always pick up a hot soldering iron ONLY by the handle; keep the tip and the metal barrel away from fingers, skin, clothing, and anything else that can get burned; put the iron back in the holder
