Kids 12 Years & Up - Workshop Option D

Mechanics 2: Start with a CAD drawing demo and then move on to the CNC machining shop to see parts designed and fabricated for your very own SLAC hammer! Move on to the machine shop. After a safety orientation and, working one on one with a machinist, knurl the hammer handle with a lathe. Using a mill, drill and pin the hammer head. Make a machinist drawing and compare materials! - A KNOCK OUT!

Video Conferencing: Learn about video equipment, computer generated presentations and video conference networks. Work at a pc computer workstation to make a short presentation. Then learn about the video conference system that links SLAC to other government laboratories and universities that is used by scientists and engineers to exchange ideas and coordinate programs. - REACH OUT!

Kids 9 to 11 years - Option A  or Option B       Kids 12 years & up - Option C or Option D
