Teri Shugart, Esq.
Lawyer, Educator, Activist      

   
speaking on

 "Girlie Men and Manly Girls -
Language that Reveals Linguistic Sexism"
 
Teri Shugart is a lawyer, adjunct professor at University of
Santa Clara School of Law, activist, and author of
"Honoring Gender Differences in Children."  She brings these
credentials too this month's WIS presentation, which highlights
the hidden power of linguistic sexism that permeates our
culture and causes harassment.

Teri speaks and conducts classes on gender and sexual
orientation harassment and discrimination in schools and in
the workplace.  She has testified before the California State
Board of Education and the California Senate Select
Committee on School Safety.
