" The Black Hole Project"

                                      and how she got there

C. Sanford Lowe is a science fiction writer who most recently co-authored, "The Black Hole Project", a series of novelettes about the making of a black hole..

Prior to this latest career Ms Lowe has "grabbed the brass ring" and run with it several times. She has been a newspaper reporter in Boston, a deputy sheriff in Arizona,,  an airline pilot in New Mexico, and now works in IT at Stanford University. She won an award for the best short story from the New England Science Fiction Association..

Grabbing the brass ring is central to Ms. Lowe's life.

Each experience has bootstrapped her into the next one.  For example, being a co-pilot for a prisoner hauling division of a small airline gave her fodder for some flying stories, and with her co-author, launched into stories of deep space. When not writing, she collaborates on experimental music with her husband..
