WIS was in a party mood on July 28th 1998 when we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the first Women's Rights Convention in the USA which was held in July 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York.
Everyone also enjoyed the short film called "Give the Ballot
to the Mothers: Songs of the Suffragists" by Francie Wolff. Jan Crehore facilitated
the lively discussion that followed during which attendees thought about how their lives
would be today if they still couldn't vote!
WIS planning group members Jan Crehore and Joli Steiber stand in front of a scrumptious anniversary cake that was shared by the 25 attendees.
