Table of Actual Measurements, Machine Cuts, and Measured VSWR Results

  1. After Brazing, the .279 and .145 are measured

  2. Per note 4 on drawing SA-341-341-12, clean up cuts are made to finish surfaces so that the window can be measured in the cold test fixture.  The clean-up cuts are a maximum of .005 on each of the two surfaces. This became known as "the square-up cut" as noted in the table below (after window #20). 

  3. The before and after parallelism is shown in the figure below.

  4. The VSWR was measured and the frequency tuned by the second cut at an assumed value of 25 MHz/mil.  The actual tuning rates are shown in the histogram below. (Material was removed from the side opposite the copper.  In only a few instances at the beginning, was material removed from the copper side after the square-up cut.)
