Nanometer BPM Mini-Workshop

Goal:

The purpose of the mini-workshop is to evaluate possible studies and discuss experiments using cavity BPM’s in the ATF extraction line. Possible experiments include: |
| 1) demonstration of 2 nanometer position resolution |
|
2) demonstration of 100 nanoradian beam tilt resolution (and 100 nanoradian trajectory tilt resolution) |
| 3) direct measurements of BPM relative mechanical motion using the beam |
|
4) stabilization of mechanical motion and validation using the beam and a witness BPM |
| 5) demonstration of nanometer resolution with a multi-bunch beam |
| 6) fast feedback stabilization of a multi-bunch beam |
|
7) demonstration of component stabilization, (i.e. focusing magnets) and validation using beam. |
