An 8-Pack Project Meeting was held on August 21, at 10:00 AM in bldg. 214 Fuji conference room. Attached are copies of the presentation material. A status of work in progress was presented by each of the project leaders.
Conventional Facilities – J. Sevilla
Inspected site for utilities.
Cost estimate started.
Need loads for cooling flowrates and DP requirements.
Need to evaluate temperature control in racks.
LLRF System – S. Smith
Controls conceptual design will be ready this time next week.
Cost estimates will come a week later.
Modulators - R. Cassel
Question - Who will decide whether to align kylstron to waveguide or waveguide to klystron?
Question - Who is costing tank, concrete, etc?
Question – Is the 8-Pack system separate from the 4-Pack system as originally planned?
Control
& DAQ – R. Fuller
Have tentative cost estimate modeled on existing equipment .
The cost data needs to be converted to new consolidated format per S. Anderson.
M-K
System – R. Larson
The cost estimate will be approximately 1 week late. Its impact should be minimal.
PPS
System – N/A
Vacuum
Instrumentation – E. Hamner
Need parts count form C. Rago.
Question – What degree of detail should costs be estimated (nuts and bolts)?
Racks

$25K cost is based on 5 double racks.
Need more information to improve estimate.
Cable
Plant – R. Fuller
Question – Should some or all labor be estimated as in-house or outside labor?
Per D. Burke, this project is R&D so no Davis-Bacon should be used in costing unless necessary.
Klystrons
– G. Caryotakis
Cost estimate and schedule is preliminary and is not released.
There is a slight schedule delay on delivery of the first 4 tubes but they are not on critical path.
Tube cost is based on 12 starts with 8 to be installed and 2 spares.
The cost to support 8-Pack test is $3.3M.
SLED/DLDS/Loads

Collecting cost information for next week schedule will come much later.

The project coordination drawing packages will be done in Solid Edge. Drawings and schematics made with other tools are fine and could be preferable. Non-Solid Edge files will be ported into Solid Edge when necessary.
Need to distribute scheduling template.
Estimate costs at a level of effort to support D. Schultz needs.
Spares should be noted in estimate. Do not include contingency.
Identify task labor hours with names for SLAC FTE employees.
Systems
