Sri Adiga presented theoretical estimations for accelerating structure vibrations (see notes on Nov.7). Sri also presented an Excel program to calculate vibrations caused by turbulence for present parameters of our RF structure.
Frederic Le Pimpec presented latest measurements of RF structure vibration caused by cooling water. The measured vibration are much higher than the estimated. However, from these measurements one can clearly see that vibrations are caused mostly by pressure waves in cooling water, and not so much by turbulence.
Further plans: find out what level of pressure fluctuation we have now; find how pressure fluctuations can be reduced (e.g. by applying these techniques? ). Also need to perform measurements in SLD collider hall where water will be driven by gravity only without pressure fluctuations.
