Summary:
Yuri Nosochkov: Extraction line optics and tracking for
20mrad and L*extr=4m
(with latest Brett Parker's quads)
- Yuri presented a newly designed extraction line with L*extr=4m. Its
performance was investigated with tracking, including high statistics (20M)
disrupted beams, both head-on and with X and Y offset. The worst cases is dY=200nm,
when there some losses which appear to be small. The losses are also
distributed along the extraction line (location of losses need to be studied
in detail). Solenoid is not yet included into the design of extraction line.
Detailed comparison with two other extraction line designs (with L*extr=8m
and L*extr=15m) need to be made.
Valery Telnov: Photon collider option in SiD and LD
cases
- Valery presented considerations for SR beam size growth versus
crossing angle and beam dump ideas for gamma-gamma case. The SR effects
were simulated for SiD and LD and are reasonably small for 25mrad or
less. The simulated numbers appears in agreement with analytical
estimations (to be studied in details).
