The very stringent physical and environmental constraints of the ILC require that the infrastructure design be supported with appropriate and complementary research. Robust high luminosity beams are not possible unless the related ILC support facilities are equally robust. Stability and availability, hydrology and geology, are areas of research currently under investigation.
