LETMeetings:  Minutes for 2005 November 22

Attending:  Representatives from LEPP and SLAC

Skew Correction Section:  Mark Woodley presented the design of a skew correction section which is matched to the Schmid/Smith hybrid spin rotator.  The total system is 42 meters long and contains 4 skew quads and 6 laser wire scanners.  The system also includes orbit control dipoles which can be used as either the feedforward correctors from the DR or else as feedback correctors to do train-to-train (or even bunch-to-bunch) orbit correction prior to the first wire scanner.

Strawman BCD:  The strawman BCD has been released by the GDE.  Check it out online.

DFS Comparison:  PT and Jeff have been comparing their DFS algorithms, starting from a single common "seed" of misalignments and errors.  Strange things are happening, but progress is being made.  It appears that the difference in the two systems for handling the launch into a DFS segment is very important, but even when this difference is corrected other issues remain to be dealt with.

LET Workshop:  The high and the mighty are contemplating a workshop on the Low Emittance Transport on the timescale of early February 2006, somewhere in the world.  Attendees are enthusiastic about the possibility.  The high and mighty will continue work on an agenda etc.

Next Meeting:  Tuesday, 20-Dec-2005, 12:30 / 11:30 / 9:30.  There will be no meeting on 06-Dec-2005 due to the GDE meeting in Frascati.
