SLAC Garden Club Meeting Minutes

Lunch hour, LOS 3 Conference Room

Meeting called to order by Hans Imfeld, Garden Club President

 

Eligibility

                Eligible members include SLAC full/part-time and retired employees.

a.        Retired members must have had membership prior to retirement.

 

Plot Fee

Reduced from $15 to $12 for 2002

 

Tools

Inventory and purchase of shovels, sledge hammer, clippers, hosed, trowels

Tools will be painted fluorescent orange (alignment group orange)

Post driver will be kept in shed

Please keep all tools in shed when not in use

 

Plot Markers

T-bar fence post with markers welded on (need weld volunteer)

 

Organic debris

Make a heap, water and turn regularly to make compost

A dumpster will be pursued

 

Director walk-through

A director walk-through may be required to bring up road and water conditions

 

Bulk compost delivery

A bulk compost delivery will be made in approximately mid-march

Note that $12 is approximately ½ yard of compost (15 cu feet)

 

West Gate

Last man out responsible for locked gate

 

Fund Raiser

None scheduled

 

New Membership

Waiting list: 9

Start working plot by May 1 or a new member will be issued your plot

Poineering

                Work to date grand-fathered in

                Work East/West along plot grid lines where possible

                New members can take initiative to make plots consistent with grid

                                -Club members will help rototil/bring in water on request
