Welcome to the website of the 2001 Workshop on Automated Beam Steering and Shaping (ABS).

Dates: December 3-4, 2001
Location: Fairmont Hotel, San Jose, California.
ABS 2001 is a satellite meeting of ICALEPCS 2001.
Meeting Chair: Greg White, SLAC
.

Scope and Objective:

Automated Beam Steering and Shaping is concerned with the application of accelerator modelling and numerical methods to the on-line, operational aspects of the commissioning and improvement of particle accelerators and light sources. In short, it’s about model based software applications.

Examples of ABS systems are steering, optimization, matching, feedback, model diagnostics, beamline diagnostics, calibration, and beam-based alignment.

The objective of ABS 2001 is to help the exchange of algorithms, methods and software among the participants, and to provide a forum for the clarification of  requirements, ideas and trends.

News:

5/Dec/2001. The meeting was held and attended by 40 enthusiastic registrants from around the world. The slides and powerpoint presentations from the talks are now being added to the Program page.
